Pontone is a little borought steeped in history. A balcony overlooks
the wonders of the Amalfi Coast, Pontone dominates the surrounding towns
of Amalfi and Atrani while facing Villa Cimbrone as if in competition
for the ultimate natural Beauty. A walk in this charming village is
pleasurable and relaxing.
" Silence is supreme and the light unchecked. Guest, at last, enjoy
a quaint simple world, charming in its extreme-the very opposite of
the busy urban scene, which, by comparison, appears sad and unwelcoming
because,it is far removed from the Work of the most memorable of all
artist that is GOD."
In a setting, not far from the church of Saint Giovanni,
rising at front of town square Palazzo Spina of the 12th century ,you'll
find the restaurant Antico Borgo.
The atmosphere is familiar, comfortable, and the cooking founded on
local culinary traditions, using fresh ingredients specific to each
season and produced by community farmers.
Here the pasta dough is made by hand on site. Enjoy also local vegetables
and meats, rabbit, and lamb, and cheeses of the region, and then finish
with good wine "and truly the best wines of the country with a
marvelous panoramic view." Not to be missed, the best pizza made
whith whole grain flour.
Fresh fish made to order. |
